Our menus are designed to exploit local produce as well as satisfy the palates of weary travellers and locals. Sourcing locally aims to support the local economy and cut down on supply chain miles. Henley-On-Thames has a grand reputation for produce. We aim to showcase that produce in heart-warming, healthy, balanced dishes that will appeal to all tastes and diets. We change our regular menus with the seasons, we change our specials with what’s available in the markets.
Every day we receive a fresh order of fish (or sea food) caught overnight off Cornwall. Its on your plate by lunch time. Our Head-Chef uses his knowledge and experience to take the best seasonal offer from the boat to your plate in the most delicious way possible. Local game is plentiful during the winter months and is at the heart of our cold season menu. However, vegetarians and “plant-based pioneers” will not feel left out with our seasonal menu and daily “Plant-Based Dairy Free Specials”. We are always researching new dishes & flavours to keep our meat-free options varied and exciting.
We make all our bread in-house and don’t expect boring white bloomers. You can expect Rye breads, Spelt breads, Beer breads, Sour Breads and of course Gluten Free options. (All house breads are dairy free unless noted on the menu).
“Henley Tapas” – You may not have time for a full sit down meal and want to grab something quick and tasty. We have lovingly put together a full range of home-cooked bar snacks, which are a little “out of the ordinary” and available all day from the bar. Alternatively order a packet of crisps or peanuts (yes we are a pub after all).
